Kiyoko M. Hairston

Kiyoko M. Hairston is the author of Freeda’s Fabnificent Feet, a picture book celebrating self-acceptance, confidence, and the joy of being yourself.

A storyteller, actress, and voice artist, Kiyoko draws on her background in acting, radio, voice-over, and coaching young performers to bring stories to life. Her warmth and humor help her connect with children on the page and in person.

Freeda’s journey grew from Kiyoko’s own childhood experience of feeling different. Through school visits, library readings, and community events, she encourages children to see their unique qualities as strengths.

​When she isn’t writing or performing, Kiyoko enjoys decorating, traveling, and time with loved ones. Her message to young readers is simple: No one can fill your shoes.
